Hello – I’m back to give my thoughts on OOLU (Whamisa’s sister-brand).
I had the opportunity to try out the Rosemary Toner and Moisturiser.
OOLU ROSEMARY TONER & MOISTURISER
The products are all naturally hand made with the wonder of natural and organic ingredients. The process to make one bottle of OOLU goes through 95 hours of picking and sorting, 360 hours of washing and drying, 96 hours of screening to eliminate foreign materials, 960 hours to extract organic ingredients, 96 hours to blend raw materials, 48 hours of natural preservation process and after 1655 hours of waiting – OOLU is born.
Yep – I calculated the total hours and it takes a long process to create a bottle of OOLU!
PRODUCT FIRST IMPRESSION
I must say that the packaging is simple yet elegant – drawn to the earthy tone and the see-through bottle that showcase the rosemary in the toner.
Upon first application, both products smell lovely with a light scent of rosemary that does not linger after application. I personally like the scent of it which it is also good for mood swings (ahem me!). The toner is lightweight and watery which is really easy to apply and provides the instant chokchok (hydration) to my face. The moisturiser on the other hand has a soft and light texture. I personally did not like the design of this moisturiser as I find it quite hard to get the amount of product I want from the bottle opening.
What has really drawn to me – Rosemary in skincare where it has a unique fragrance, packed with vitamins and is also good for mood swings! Rosemary and herbal extracts with Borneol ingredients are known to moisturise and comfort the skin.
The rosemary leaves containing Borneol and Herb extracts regulate and moisturise the skin. It also has natural antiseptic properties which helps to protect your skin from damage caused by free radicals and sun.
- Sea grape extract – skin moisturising, skin elastic, skin texture improvement, skin tone improvement
- Eye Bright extract – skin soothing, skin moisturiser
- Lady’s mantle leaf extract – skin texture and improve skin protection
- Lemon balm extract – tannin to soften pores and toning skin
Packed with various vitamins and the nature-based ingredients along with organic oils to help moisture the skin.
- Ginseng extract – anti-ageing ingredient, cleanses skin, improves skin tone and texture
- Elm tree extract – improves skin elasticity and skin texture
- Guava Leaf extract – skin protection and elasticity
Problems & Recommendations:
Both products are suitable for all skin types – however, for my dry skin I think the moisturiser is quite light for my skin in winter. I would use the 7 skin method with the toner for the extra hydration and a layer of the moisturiser.
RECOMMENDATION OF APPLICATION & TIPS
After cleansing, I would pour an appropriate amount of toner on my palm and gently pat into my skin to absorb. You can also use a cotton pad and soak the toner to apply it on your face.
Follow up with an appropriate amount of moisturiser and apply it evenly on your face.
Tip: Create your own patch mask by soaking your cotton pads with toner and apply it on areas that are dry (ie. cheeks).
I love how my skin feels after my routine with OOLU. The scent of rosemary kinda lifted my mood when I’m using it. The nutrients of rosemary which helps to protect the skin and also moisturise has really grew on me too. The ginseng extract formulated in the moisturiser helps tone and brighten the skin. Both products (toner and moisturiser) are lightweight so it would be perfect to include in your daily routine.
Thank you @Jorea.Journey!
Your skin should be more suitable for the Oolu Sunflower Toner as it’s more hydrating. We would have send that to you however, the other Oolu range haven’t arrive online at the time the products were gifted. 🙂
See how @Jorea.Journey incorporate both Whamisa and Oolu Skincare in her routine
